The mission of the Columbia College Chicago Friends of the Library is to support and enhance our ongoing collection development, programming, facilities and technology initiatives for our community of students, faculty, staff and users of the Columbia College Chicago Library.
The purpose of the Friends of the Library program is to maintain an association of individuals interested in strengthening the collections and improving the facilities and services provided by the Columbia College Chicago Library through financial and in-kind donations. Friends of the Library are students, faculty, staff, alumni and members of the general public who recognize that at the heart of a great academic institution is its Library.
Founded in 2005, the Friends of the Columbia College Chicago Library play an important role in the development of the Library through financial and in-kind contributions. These funds allow for the acquisitions of needed library resources and the development and enrichment of services and programs for the Columbia community.
The Friends of the Library program plays an important role in the growth and enhancement of Columbia College Chicago Library. Financial contributions will go toward collection building efforts, programs for the Columbia College Chicago community and its supporters, as well as technology and facilities improvements in order to meet the ever changing needs of our students and faculty. Recent purchases include DSLR and GoPro cameras for student use and more.
We invite you to join us as we continue our efforts towards ensuring that the Columbia College Chicago Library maintains its high standards of student support and the long term provision of collections and services for future generations. In doing so, your support provides a positive impact upon the academic, artistic, cultural and intellectual needs of our students and to all who attend our programs and events throughout the year. Everyone is a Friend of the Library.
